…about the immutability of God

It is easy to see the unchanging character of God the Father.  There are many scriptures such as, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” (James 1:17)

We are told in scripture that Jesus never changes — “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

The Holy Spirit is the third person of our glorious Almighty Triune God.  While I cannot find specific scripture about the immutability of the Holy Spirit, He IS God and therefore never changes.  Then I had a thought.  The Holy Spirit was there at the beginning , moving on the face of the waters bringing order out of chaos.  He is still doing the dame today in the lives of the elect - changing the chaos of our lives into the image of the Son of God (Romans 8:29, 2 Corinthians 3:18).

The knowledge that the God Who created everything will never change and is thus worthy of my trust brings both comfort and strength!
