…about what we leave behind

I attended the memorial service of a very good and kind Christian man on Saturday. I only knew him for 3 years but he definitely had an influence on my life and the way that I think. He went home to heaven at the age of 94. His body and mind were slowing down but his love of God and the Word were as strong as ever. He reminded me of my own Mom who never missed an opportunity to talk to folks about Jesus.

“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” (Colossians 1:18) Raymond put Jesus first in everything! He left behind an example that we could all follow. Paul said, “Follow me as I follow Jesus.” Raymond did just that.

I pray that someday, when my time on earth is done, people will be able to say about me, “She put Jesus first in everything.”
