…about warfare

The other night I was watching (listening to) a SciFi video on YouTube.  I have always loved science fiction.  When I was in elementary school, I would read just about anything I could get my hands on.  I lived in the Panhandle of Texas and so reading about tapping maple trees for the sap to make maple syrup was just as foreign to me as reading about water creatures in space that surfed the ocean as it went from one planet to another.

The particular video I was listening to was highlighting the indomitable human spirit and that humans should never be underestimated.  My mind began to make the leap to the Christian who knows without a doubt Who his God is and what HE has already done!!

How many time have we mused, “Why do people rage against God?”  God Himself posed this question: “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?  He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.” (Psalms 2:1,4)

In the Biblical worldview, time began about 6000 years ago.  Satan has been raging against God all of that time and inciting man to join him in his raging!  But all that rage is for naught. I am beginning to see and understand that there is absolutely no need for us to engage in the kind of warfare that Satan wants.  He wants us to be angry and to argue and engage in tactics similar to his.  But God has said:

“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)” (2 Corinthians 10:4)

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” (Revelation 12:11)

If we but stand firm and immovable, grounded in the Holy Scriptures and strengthened by the power of the Holy Spirit, we WILL win the day!
