…about life

This morning the song, “The Church’s One Foundation” came to mind.  As I sang through the song, I began to realize that life — ALL life — is about one thing…Jesus Christ!  God the Father breathed life into man and he became a living being.  God the Son lived a perfect human life, died an excruciatingly horrible death, rose again on the third day and ascended to heaven so that those who believe and trust Him can have New Life.  But what about those who do not believe and trust Jesus’ sacrifice?  Their lives are also about Jesus Christ!  They hate Him, revile Him and seek to destroy Him and all who trust Him.  Even those who claim to be atheist or who follow the gods of this world fall into the second category and will fight to their last breath against the One who gave mankind life and offers every man new (everlasting) life.  It has always been this way.  All wars are basically the heathen against God.

Psalms 2:1-4  Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,  Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.  He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Another song comes to mind just now…”Marching to Zion.”

Hebrews 12:1-2  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
